Foreign Minister Soini to be decorated in Estonia

Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini has been awarded an Estonian State decoration to be conferred to him on Friday 22 February. While in Tallinn, Minister Soini will also meet the President and the Foreign Minister of Estonia.

Foreign Minister Timo Soini has been awarded a decoration of the II class of the Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana (Maarjamaa Risti teenetemärk) by the President of the Republic of Estonia.

On the eve of Estonia's Independence Day, President Kersti Kaljulaid will confer decorations to 112 individuals. Minister Soini will attend the award ceremony, to be held in Laulasmaa near Tallinn on Friday 22 February.

"The decoration is naturally a big honour. The relations between Finland and Estonia have become stronger in the recent years. Estonia is a very important neighbour and partner for us," Foreign Minister Soini says.

Minister Soini will also hold bilateral discussions with Estonia's President Kersti Kaljulaid and with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sven Mikser

They will discuss the bilateral relations between the two countries, topical international questions, and security in the Baltic Sea.
