IKI CMC/CCCPA Instutional Capacity building on gender training and the implementation of UNSC resolution 1325
Description What is done in the programme or project and why, what results are pursued, who benefits from the activities and who are involved in the implementation.
The Cairo Regional Center for Training on Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa (CCCPA) and Crisis Management Centre Finland (CMC) have been planning cooperation since 2010. The first gender and peace building training course was carried out by CMC Finland but the uprising delayed the actual course to the early 2012. The partners started to plan more comprehensive way of cooperating in the form of institutional capacity building. This lead to this project where the aim is to build the training capacity of CCCPA so that it can independently give the gender training to the peacekeepers, and enhance the implementation of UNSCR 1325 in peacekeeping/peacebuilding. CCCPA functions under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its mandate is to build Egyptian and African peacekeeping capacities by providing integrated training courses to key personnel from civilian staff, military and police. The project will last three years and the budget is 794 423 Euros.
