Minister for Foreign Affairs Soini to Egypt

Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini will visit Egypt from 6 to 9 November 2017. The main objective of the visit is to strengthen discussion dealing with central foreign and security policy questions and to promote cooperation between the two countries, including commercial and economic cooperation. The Foreign Minister will meet, for example, the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, and Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, with whom he will discuss the countries’ bilateral relations, their regional situation and other topical international matters.

Additionally, Foreign Minister Soini will participate in a panel discussion on women’s position and empowerment, organised at the American University in Cairo. During the visit, Foreign Minister Soini will also meet Pope Tawadros II, the Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Alexandria.
