The released Finns on their way home


The special flight commissioned by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs left Finland on Tuesday morning, 12 September, to meet Seppo Fränti and Risto Vahanen in Tripoli. The aircraft, which left Helsinki-Vantaa airport at 6 am, will make a stop-over in Zurich where Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja, returning from his visit to the United States, will step onboard.

The aircraft will land in Tripoli before noon local time. The reception ceremony organised by the Libyans will begin at 1 pm. After the ceremony, the Foreign Minister will leave for Finland with Seppo Fränti and Risto Vahanen. The aircraft is expected to land in Finland late on Thursday night.
