Seminar on information society organised by Finland and Lithuania


A seminar on information society will be organised in Vilnius, Lithuania, on Friday, 7 June, by the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Information Society Development Committee of Lithuania. The seminar, focusing on the development of information society in Lithuania, is part of Finnish development cooperation with its neighbouring areas and the Northern eDimension Action Plan of the European Union, which offers a platform helping to accelerate the transition to information society in the region through closer cooperation and integration.

The seminar on information society between Finland and Lithuania was
initiated by Finland's President Tarja Halonen during her state visit to Lithuania in March.

The seminar will be chaired by Professor Jorma Routti and opened by Finland's Ambassador to Lithuania, Taina Kiekko.
