The Ministry for Foreign Affairs 100 years and Arctic cooperation – public event in Kittilä

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs marks its centenary year by presenting its activities in events organised in different parts of Finland. In cooperation with the municipality of Kittilä, the Ministry will organise a public event on 19 March.

The event will focus on Arctic matters and the Foreign Ministry's consular services. The following specialists will be present at the event: René Söderman, Senior Adviser for Arctic Affairs, Pasi Tuominen, Director General of Consular Services, and Ambassador Petri Salo from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Johanna Ekman, Project Manager from the Finnish Meteorological Institute's Arctic Space Centre, and County Governor Mika Riipi.

The public event will be held on 19 March from 16.30 to 18.30 in the Yläri auditorium of Kittilä upper comprehensive school, Valtatie 9 A. Read more about the public event on the website of the Kittilä municipality.(Link to another website.) (Opens New Window) 

The public event belongs to the series of meetings and events of the Arctic Week(Link to another website.) (Opens New Window), which gathers  representatives of the Arctic Council, the World Meteorological Organization, the Finnish Meteorological Institute, the European Commission and the European External Action Service to Levi.
