Foreign Minister Tuomioja meets US Under Secretary of State Dobriansky


Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja will meet the US Under Secretary of State for global affairs, Paula Dobriansky, in Helsinki on Tuesday, 8 October. Tuomioja and Dobriansky will discuss questions of the Northern region, the outcome of the World Summit on Sustainable Development, human rights and climate issues as well as transatlantic cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism.

On Wednesday and Thursday Dobriansky will head the US delegation at the Arctic Council ministerial meeting in Saariselkä.

At the State Department Dobriansky is responsible for democracy and human rights, international environmental affairs, international crime and law enforcement, international narcotics as well as refugees and migration.
