Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja visits France and Poland

Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja will travel to Paris on Wednesday, 15 November 2000, to deliver an address at the French Institute for International Affairs, IFRI. Mr Tuomioja will talk about the development of Europe from a northern dimension.

Mr Tuomioja will deliver his address at 19.00 Finnish time, at which point it will be on our web site.

Earlier on Wednesday, Mr Tuomioja will meet French journalists and foreign correspondents at a luncheon. He will also meet representatives of Attac, which is a non-governmental organisation focusing on globalisation.

On Thursday, 16 November, Mr Tuomioja will travel from Paris to Warsaw for a short working visit. Mr Tuomioja and Polish Foreign Minister Wladyslaw Bartoszewski will discuss the enlargement and the security policy of the EU, regional cooperation as well as bilateral issues.

Mr Tuomioja will return to Finland on Thursday evening.
