Minister for Foreign Trade Sasi to visit French silicon valley


Minister for Foreign Trade Kimmo Sasi will visit the French silicon valley, Sophia Antipolis, on July 1. The purpose of the visit is to strengthen Finland´s reputation in France as a frontrunner in the field of high technology. During the visit Minister Sasi will make acquaintance with the leadership of Sophia Antipolis technology park and the Finnish companies present there.

Sophia Antipolis is one of the leading technology centers in the world. More than 1000 companies operate in the area, employing more than 20 000 people. Sophia Antipolis offers a unique opportunity for Finnish technology companies, particularly for those specialised in wireless technology and content production, to cooperate with global technology companies and make a mark especially in the Southern European markets.

Finnish companies active in the area are e.g. Profium, Solid, Stonesoft and Trema. Minister Sasi will use his visit to discuss with representatives of the Finnish companies and the leaders of the technology park on perspectives and internationalization strategies in this field.
