Foreign Minister Tuomioja condemns bomb strikes in Israel

Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja condemns the bomb strikes by Palestinian extremists in Israel.
President Arafat and the Palestinian Authority are expected to take effective measures in order to bring the guilty before justice and to prevent new terrorist strikes. The events demonstrate once again how vital it is to return to peace negotiations according to the Mitchell Plan, with the aim of a quaranteed security for Israel and an independent, viable Palestinian state. The extremists must not be allowed to prevent a return to the peace process with their suicide strikes.
