Minister for Foreign Trade Vilén visits Ireland


Minister for Foreign Trade Jari Vilén visits Dublin, Ireland on February 19-20. Minister Vilén will give a lecture at the Institute of European Affairs on the role of the militarily non-allied EU member states in developing Union’s Common Security and Defence Policy.

During his one day visit, Minister Vilén will meet with the Irish Foreign Minister Brian Cowen, The Minister for Internal Market Tony Kitt and the Chairman of the Forum on EU’s Future, Senator Maurice Hayes.

The discussions will deal with issues concerning the EU enlargement and future, the Irish Referendum on the ratification of the Nice Agreement, as well as the forthcoming negotiation round of the World Trade Organization, WTO.

Minister Vilén will also address the public at a seminar, Form of Finland, organized in connection with an exhibition introducing Finnish Design. This is the first time the Finnish classic and modern design will be on display in Ireland.
