A problem-solving nation in the limelight

Press release 20/2014
27 January 2014

Focus on Finland, the annual publication showcasing Finland for key international markets, has just been published for the twelfth time. The magazine provides inspirational perspectives on Finnish business, culture, education and society.

“The magazine highlights a nation facing structural changes, both local and global, and shows how these circumstances spur new business ideas, opportunities and growth,” says editor-in-chief Nicola Lindertz from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. “Finnish expertise forms a recurring theme, as does the Finns’ creative, problem-solving mentality.”

While the whole world is adjusting to environmental demands, Finland leads the way in cleantech solutions. The country’s start-up scene is thriving with unparalleled success, and the genuineness of Finnish design and literature is attracting growing international audiences. The magazine itself forms an example of the Finnish aptitude for design, photography and illustration.

The content and layout of Focus on Finland’s print and online versions have been completely redesigned by Otavamedia Customer Communications. Otavamedia also handles the magazine’s production, design and project management.

Focus is a joint Team Finland publication of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Employment and the Economy, Sitra, Invest in Finland and Finnfacts. The magazine is distributed primarily by Finnish embassies; it is also distributed at international trade events and seminars showcasing Finnish know-how.
