Minister Blomqvist to attend meeting of Ministers for Nordic Cooperation
Minister for Nordic Cooperation and Equality Thomas Blomqvist will attend a meeting of Ministers for Nordic Cooperation in Copenhagen on 31 January.
In connection with the meeting, Minister Blomqvist will hold bilateral discussions with Karen Ellemann, the new Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers who took office in early January.
“Secretary General Ellemann and I fully agree that we need efficient and effective Nordic cooperation. At the heart of our work is the Nordic countries’ shared vision to make our region the world’s most sustainable and integrated region by 2030,” Minister Blomqvist says.
The main item on the meeting agenda will be the vision for the Nordic Council of Ministers adopted by the Nordic prime ministers in 2019. The ministers for Nordic cooperation will discuss the progress of the vision and the drafting of an action plan for the period following 2024. Among the aims are a stronger role for the sectors of society to boost the green transition. Other items on the meeting agenda include budgetary planning for 2024.
