Ausstellung Helena Kauppila: Relations and Risk with Relations
19.1. – 10.3.2023
Max-Planck-Institut für Bildungsforschung, Lentzeallee 94 , 14195 Berlin
Relations at Risk with Relations is a show about different perspectives coming together and changing each other. In the architecture of the exhibition hall, the combination of artworks placed in view keeps shifting. Mathematics is the study of objects and their relations. The word "relations" is how I decided to build a bridge between the art and the sciences studied at MPIB.
The MPIB building is a marvel of possibilities and a major work of the renowned architects Hermann Fehling and Daniel Gogel.
"It matters what stories make worlds, what worlds make stories. Strathern wrote about accepting the risk of relentless contingency; she thinks about anthropology as the knowledge practice that studies relations with relations, that puts relations at risk with other relations, from unexpected other worlds."
- Donna Haraway in Staying with the Trouble Making Kin in the Chthulucene
