We need a sustainability revolution in how we make, use and dispose of textiles. How can we construct designs suitable for long-term use? Which designs are possible to recycle at the end of their lifetime? Does textile waste and circular economy make out the basis of success for the fashion of the future? What prevents and enables textile recycling? How can we recycle textile materials more effectively, creating a circular system?

We need a sustainability revolution in how we make, use and dispose of textiles.

  • How can we construct designs suitable for long-term use? Which designs are possible to recycle at the end of their lifetime?
  • Does textile waste and circular economy make out the basis of success for the fashion of the future?
  • What prevents and enables textile recycling? How can we recycle textile materials more effectively, creating a circular system?

Finland’s long tradition in design, digital innovations and cellulose processing are now offering an excellent basis to solve some of the most striking challenges in the textile industry. The change starts already on the designer’s desk, makes use of new material innovations, and restructures the way the garments are produced and used. All this is based on data transparency throughout the production chain.
