Education Project 2019: Finnish Education at Prague Education Festival

The main promotion theme of Embassy of Finland Prague for the year 2019 was “Education”. After successful event in May 2019 (Conference about Finnish Education System in Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic), the Embassy of Finland in Prague cooperated with Economia Press House and decided to take part in Prague Education Festival.

 
 

Prague Education Festival was three days event which took place in Průmyslový palác Výstaviště exhibition hall in Prague from 14 to 16 November and it was the first year of the festival.    

Our main goal was to highlight the key values of the Finnish education system, as we did in May 2019, gain media visibility for Finland and also for Finnish companies involved in the field of Education. For this reason, Embassy of Finland in Prague received top speakers from Finland:

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ms. Anita Lehikoinen

Professor from Helsinki University, Ms. Kirsti Lonka

Director of Education Finland, Mr. Jouni Kangasniemi

Headmaster of Metsokangas Koulu, Oulu, Mr. Kalle Komulainen

 
 

To introduce the Finnish Education System and the companies involved in the Finnish education,  the embassy prepared a stand where people interested in education could gain more information. The promotion materials of Finnish companies were collected and provided by Education Finland .  For the Festival Embassy  prepared video&picture presentations about Finnish Education System and Finnish companies, and those were screened at our stand. We  also had invited Czech and Finnish speakers with the experience of Finnish Education System to our stand. All the main Finnish speakers were available for interviews or at our Education Finland stand for questions.

Later, on November, the Embassy organized seminar “Experience with Finnish Education” in Slovakia, Bratislava and used the materials of Finnish companies there, as well.     

 
 

The speakers from Finland gained very good visibility in Czech newspaper, namely Hospodarske noviny and server Aktualne.cz, so we could all work on good image of Finland in the Czech Republic.
