Timo Rajakangas appointed Consul General in Hong Kong Timo Rajakangas

The President of the Republic appointed today 18 August, Timo Rajakangas, Counsellor of Foreign Affairs, as Head of Mission of the Consulate General of Finland in Hong Kong as of 1 September, 2006.

Rajakangas entered the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1985 and has i.a. worked in various positions at the Department for External Economic Relations as well as at the Department for Administrative Affairs as Director for Personnel Planning. He has been posted to the Finnish Diplomatic Missions in Geneva, Tokyo and Hamburg.

His previous appointment abroad as Minister Counsellor at the Embassy in Vienna lasted until summer 2005 after which he spent a year as a Fellow at Harvard University. He has previously been employed at the University of Helsinki and the Bank of Finland.
