A large corporate delegation from China to visit Finland

Led by Mr Gao Hucheng, Vice Minister of Commerce, a large export and investment promotion delegation from China is visiting Finland on 9–10 July at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen and Minister of Economic Affairs Mauri Pekkarinen. The official delegation is accompanied by representatives of more than 200 Chinese companies.

Minister Väyrynen will meet with Vice Minister of Commerce Gao in Helsinki on Friday, 10 July. Topics on the meeting agenda include, for instance, bilateral economic and trade relations and investments, and trade relations and investments between the European Union and China. Other topics on the agenda are international economic and trade issues. Minister Pekkarinen will also participate in the meeting.

In connection with the visit, a day-long Finland–China Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum is being held at the Marina Congress Center in Helsinki on Friday, 10 July. Besides the Finnish ministers, the official Chinese delegation and the business guests from China, the Forum will be attended by representatives of nearly 200 Finnish companies, the aim being to promote bilateral trade and investments. Trade agreements between Finnish and Chinese companies will be signed during the Forum.
