Embassy of Finland in Beijing is seeking a qualified assistant
The Embassy of Finland is seeking to hire an experienced and qualified assistant to its political section and education and science section starting on 1 September 2023 or as agreed.
Job description including primary responsibilities:
- Supporting the political section and the education and science section of the Embassy, and other sections as needed
- Receiving, sending, drafting and translating notes and other documentation
- Contacting, liaising and organizing appointments with Chinese authorities and other partners
- Oral interpretation in meetings and during visits
- Making meeting and travel arrangements, including incoming delegations
- Event/project organization and coordination
- Data collecting from Chinese media and public sources
- Other regular assistant duties
- Any other tasks given by the management of the Embassy
Qualifications:
- Good social and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Good computer skills
- Research and multitasking skills
- Intercultural understanding
- Previous experience in similar tasks, preferably in cross-cultural environment
- Good knowledge of the diplomatic working environment, Chinese authorities and public administration
- Excellent written and spoken Chinese and English, both oral and written
