Third TF Flash Survey shows that Finnish businesses in China continue to face headwinds

Team Finland China today released its third survey on the impacts of China’s COVID-19 policy and Russia’s aggression war in Ukraine on Finnish businesses in China. The survey was conducted in November 2022 as a follow-up to the previous ones conducted in April and May 2022.

The results show that the continued COVID-19 containment measures have negative effects on Finnish companies’ revenue, profit and investment expectations in 2022. Close to 80% of respondents expect a slightly or considerably worse outcome for the year.

Russia’s ongoing aggression war in Ukraine has also exacerbated challenges faced by Finnish businesses in China, with 51% of respondents expecting either slightly or considerably decreased revenues due to the continued war.

The response rate dropped from previous surveys, in part due to the changes in response collection methods, but the company profile mix remained largely unchanged.
