Advance Polls in Canada for the Finnish Municipal Elections

Advance Polls in Canada for the Finnish Municipal Elections

Persons temporarily staying in Canada, who are domiciled in Finland, can vote in advance by mail or at three polling stations. Since it is difficult to predict what effects Covid-19 may have on the functioning of polling stations, it is worthwhile to consider voting by mail.

7. – 9.4.2021

Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver

Embassy of Finland, Ottawa

We recommend voting by mail, because Covid-19 related restrictions by local authorities may result in closing polling stations.  Please order the voting material as soon as possible so that voting is possible in all circumstances.  Ordering the voting material now is recommended also for voters who are planning to vote by mail in any case.

Candidate listings are available as of March 18, 2021

When voting at the advance polls in person, you must have with you a valid piece of government-issued photo I.D. If you received the voting notice in the mail, please bring it also.

Every eligible voter will be mailed a voting notice latest March 25, 2021, to the address on file in the population register. If you are not certain your details in the register are current, contact the Digital and Data Services Agency.
