Invented in Helsinki and celebrating its first anniversary on May 19, 2012, Restaurant Day allows anyone to set up their own café, resto or bar for one day. It has quickly spread to other cities and become a Finnish tradition, also gaining popularity abroad.

New ambassadorial appointments to Washington, Alger, Brussels, Mission to NATO, Tel Aviv, Kathmandu and Dar es Salaam

On Thursday 10 February, the Government decided to propose to the President of the Republic seven new appointments. The President of the Republic will appoint the Ambassadors in the presidential session on Friday 11 February.

Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb will visit Brussels on 26 January. The Foreign Minister will give a speech at the Annual Meeting of Belgian Ambassadors. He will also have bilateral talks with the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Steven Vanacker.
