Changes in the EU Presidency calendar

On Friday, 13 October, the Cabinet Committee on EU Affairs discussed, through a written procedure, the meetings to be arranged during Finland’s Presidency of the EU. A new EU-US high-level dialogue on climate change, clean energy and sustainable development will be added to the meeting calendar.

The meeting in Helsinki on 24th and 25th October will be attended by representatives from Finland, the United States, the European Commission and Germany, the next Presidency country.

A meeting focusing on the Working Time Directive will be held in Lahti on 20 October. The meeting will be attended by representatives from Finland, the European Commission and the next EU Presidency countries, Germany and Portugal

The EU-Canada Summit, which was to be held in Helsinki, will be transferred to Tampere to coincide with the Foreign Ministers' follow-up meeting as part of the Barcelona Process (EUROMED) on 27 November.

The ministerial meeting on Justice and Home Affairs under the EU-Russia Partnership Council will be transferred to Finland. The meeting, which was to take place in Luxembourg on 29 and 30 October, will be organised in Helsinki.
