AGL Energy Partner with Wärtsilä for Smarter Energy Production in South Australia
In many cases Australia's energy needs and challenges are very similar to Finland's. Therefore, it is only natural that AGL Energy and Finnish Wärtsilä have formed a partnership to strengthen South Australian energy security. We had an interview on this topic with Mr Sushil Purohit, Wärtsilä's Vice President, Energy Solution Middle East and Asia.

Register now for our World Nordic Walking Day event in Canberra!
Everyone is welcome and it's free! Those with and without poles - curious to find out what all the fuss about Nordic Walking is, along with Canberra's growing community of Nordic Walkers. It will be a fun-filled morning with plenty to see and do and loads of prizes, including Australia’s first-ever Nordic Walking Race, a 7km Nordic Walking Invitation Challenge race around the central basin – starting and finishing at the Embassy.

Finland's stall at the Multicultural Festival 2018
The Embassy of Finland will be holding a stall in the EU Village at the Multicultural Festival from 10am – 4pm on Saturday 17 February 2018. The theme is "Finland – Nature and Healthy Living" and there will be brochures and information about Finland and Finnish culture. There will also be a fun quiz about Finland for visitors to fill out to go into the draw to win an evening in the Embassy of Finland's traditional Finnish sauna.

Finns around the world: Päivi Arvonen
Päivi Arvonen is a journalist, photographer, cultural trainer, and cultural communications consultant. In 2004 she was only supposed to stay in Cairo for five months to study Arabic but ended up staying there for twelve years. Her photography exhibition Soul of the Forest (Metsän sielu) has travelled around the world as part of the Finland 100 program and is currently on display at the Embassy of Finland in Canberra. We sat down with her to have a chat about her life, career and travels.

The customer service of the Embassy of Finland will be closed on 15 to 19 January 2018 due to the presidential election. Please notice that this includes the phone service also. Unfortunately, during this time the embassy does not accept new passport or visa applications. New application may be submitted again as of Monday 22 January 2018.
