New Ambassadors to Morocco and the United Arab Emirates

The President of the Republic has designated the following persons as ambassadors on 11 May:

Rytövuori Antti Counsellor Antti Rytövuori to serve as Head of the Finnish Embassy in Rabat, Morocco, as from 1 June 2007.

Rytövuori joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1990. In the Finnish diplomatic service abroad, Rytövuori has held postings in the Consulate General in Los Angeles, the Embassy of Beijing and Finland's Permanent Mission to Geneva. In the Ministry, Rytövuori has served in the Department for External Economic Relations, the Political Department and the Department for the Americas and Asia. Since 1994, he has been Director of the Personnel Unit in the Administrative Department. Rytövuori has also served the Union of Civil Servants of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs both as a board member and as chair from 2003 to 2004.

Lassila Matti Counsellor Matti Lassila to serve as Head of the Finnish Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, as from 1 August 2007.

Lassila joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1987. In the diplomatic service abroad, he has held postings in the Finnish Consulate in Marseilles, in the Finnish Embassies in Dublin, Tehran, and Prague, Finland's Permanent Mission to Geneva, and Finland's Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels. In the Ministry, Lassila has served in the Political and Legal Departments and in the Department for External Economic Relations. Since 2004, Lassila has been Director of the Unit for the EC's Common Commercial Policy in the Department for External Economic Relations.
