Minister Väyrynen to make an export promotion trip to the Persian Gulf

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen will go on an export promotion trip to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait on 14–20 January. The Minister will be accompanied by a business delegation of more than 40 people representing the IT, construction, logistics, metal engineering, education and industrial sectors.

During the trip Minister Väyrynen will meet with many ministers and representatives of official bodies. In Saudi Arabia the Minister will have meetings, among others, with Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdallah bin Zaynal Ali Reza and in Kuwait with Minister of Commerce and Industry Ahmad Rashid al-Haroun. In Abu Dhabi Minister Väyrynen will participate in the World Future Energy Summit and will deliver Finland’s address there.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait are important technology industry markets for Finland. It is also hoped that the region will be a central target for education exports from Finland.
