Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to visit Finland

Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan will visit Finland on Wednesday 20 May. The Minister’s itinerary will include meetings with, for instance, President of the Republic Tarja Halonen and Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb.

This is the first ministerial-level visit to Finland from the United Arab Emirates, and it is part of a more extensive European tour. The topics of discussion will include international affairs of current interest, such as energy and climate issues, the Middle East peace process, and the free trade agreement negotiations of the EU and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). One more topic to be discussed is Abu Dhabi’s bid to host headquarters of The International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena).
